Home Building

Military Grade is versed in all methods of home construction.  We believe that every method has a place depending on the projects wants and needs.

Types of Construction: Stick Frame, ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms), SIP (Structural Insulated Panels) and Post Frame

Stick Frame

Stick frame projects are built on top of a concrete basement or crawlspace foundation and use some of the interior walls for support. Stick frame buildings often have more complex wall framing structures than post-frame buildings and are well known for the design and style they bring to a traditional residential homes.

ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms)

ICF construction results in cast-in-place concrete walls that are sandwiched between two layers of insulation material. Traditional finishes are applied to interior and exterior faces, so the buildings look similar to typical construction, although the walls are usually thicker and is a better preforming home in terms of utility usage.

SIP (Structural Insulated Panels)

SIP homes are a high-performance building system for residential and light commercial construction. The panels consist of an insulating foam core sandwiched between two structural facings, typically OSB (oriented strand board). Building with SIPs will save you time due to the panels being manufactured off site to design specifications.

Post Frame

Post frame construction is a building method that relies on heavy timbers rather than dimensional lumber. The use of large timbers in post frame construction means fewer support beams are needed, thus creating dramatically open interior spaces typically used for sheds, shops and barns but has become a standard method of construction in home building.

Insulation

Custom homes to commercial insulation from the attics to the crawlspace. We use batt or bib insulation for the walls to ensure the max amount of energy savings on the projects. The attic insulation at the end of the project tightens the energy so the house can breath yet maintain the airflow without losing heat etc. Our standards are unmatched in this industry becuase of our dedication to the craft. We are hands on with the insulation from firecaulking to putting the final lid on the attic.
